- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
- 2 medium carrots, sliced thinly
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 medium onion, diced

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup pearl barley
- 1 tsp dried thyme
