Description

Warm up your evenings with the rich and creamy goodness of French onion pasta. This comforting dish combines sweet caramelized onions, garlic, and a luscious cream sauce enveloping your favorite pasta. Perfect for cozy nights or impressing guests, this recipe is both simple and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine (or any pasta)
  • 2 large Vidalia onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the onions and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and a pinch of salt; caramelize until golden brown (about 20 minutes).
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute. Deglaze the pan with broth, scraping up any bits.
  4. Lower heat, add heavy cream, and simmer until combined.
  5. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce until well-coated.
  6. Off heat, stir in Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Serve immediately.
