Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for greasing)
  • 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage (crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Instructions

  1. 1. Create the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.
  2. 2. Let It Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about 60 minutes until doubled in size.
  3. 3. Prepare the Sauce: Sauté onions and bell peppers in a saucepan over medium heat until soft. Add tomatoes, oregano, and basil; simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. 4. Shape Your Pizza: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a deep-dish pan with olive oil. Roll out the dough into a circle larger than the pan; press it into the bottom and up the sides.
  5. 5. Add Fillings: Layer mozzarella on the bottom, then add crumbled sausage and sautéed veggies. Top generously with prepared tomato sauce.
  6. 6. Bake: Sprinkle parmesan on top and bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
