Description

Classic German Goulash is a hearty stew that warms the soul with its rich flavors and comforting aroma. Made with tender beef chuck, vibrant bell peppers, and a symphony of spices, this dish is perfect for cozy family dinners or festive gatherings. With every spoonful, you’ll savor the deep, savory notes of paprika and garlic, making it an unforgettable meal that brings loved ones together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cubed
  • 2 medium yellow onions, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Hungarian paprika
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions until translucent (about 5 minutes), then add garlic.
  2. Brown beef in batches until a crust forms to lock in juices.
  3. Stir in diced bell peppers, paprika, and tomato paste; mix well.
  4. Pour in beef broth and add bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover pot, and cook for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is fork-tender.
  6. Adjust seasoning before serving hot over egg noodles or with crusty bread.
