Oatmeal Molasses Dinner Rolls are the ultimate comfort food, enveloping your kitchen in a delicious aroma that invites everyone to the table. These soft, pillowy rolls boast a subtle sweetness from molasses and a heartiness from rolled oats, making them perfect for any occasion—from cozy family dinners to festive gatherings. Slather them in butter for an irresistible treat that will leave your guests asking for more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, oats, sugar, salt, and molasses.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until combined and knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into equal portions; shape into balls and place on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Let rolls rise again until puffy (about 30 minutes). Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
