  • 14 oz firm tofu, drained and cubed
  • 4 tbsp vegan butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Carefully drain tofu and pat dry with paper towels. Cut into uniform cubes.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the vegan butter until foamy. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for about 1 minute.
  3. Add cubed tofu to the skillet, cooking gently for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, and lime juice. Pour over the tofu and coat well.
  5. Simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in chopped green onions.
  6. Serve on a platter or in bowls, garnished with toasted sesame seeds.
