  • 4 medium Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onion until the meat is cooked through and the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the sliced potatoes and mix until evenly coated with the beef juices.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth, then pour over the beef and potato mixture.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake uncovered for about 1 hour, or until golden brown and bubbly.
