Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix pitted cherries with 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the crumble mixture into the prepared dish. Spread cherry filling evenly over it and top with remaining crumble.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
