- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix pitted cherries with 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumble mixture into the prepared dish. Spread cherry filling evenly over it and top with remaining crumble.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
