  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it froth for about 5 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture, beaten egg, and softened butter. Combine until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter over it, then sprinkle with sugar and raspberries.
  6. Roll tightly into a log shape and slice into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the icing, whisk powdered sugar with milk until desired consistency is reached and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
