  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add flank steak to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove steak from marinade (reserve marinade) and sear for 5-7 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
  5. Shred the rested steak using two forks. Return shredded meat to the skillet with onions and reserved marinade. Cook together until crispy edges form (about 10 minutes).
  6. Serve hot with lime wedges on the side.
