- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 3 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 3 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 10 cloves garlic, whole
- 2 large onions, quartered
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Rub softened butter all over the turkey. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the cavity with quartered onions, garlic cloves, and fresh herbs.
- Place turkey breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan to keep the turkey moist.
- Roast for approximately 13 minutes per pound or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste occasionally with broth.
- Let rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
